NOVA Equestrian Center Lameness Locator / Acupuncture Clinic

Organizer: Paula Joyce info@novaeqc.com 7039885001

NOVA Equestrian Center (NEC) in Aldie, VA is pleased to host a free lameness locator clinic and an introductory price acupuncture clinic for the community on March 20, 2022.

NEC is a brand new, regional-first fitness center conveniently located on Rt 15 in Loudoun County, Virginia.

The Equinosis Q with Lameness Locator (EL2) is a high-tech device that uses 3 sensors to analyze your horse’s gait providing an objective, easy-to-read report. Identifying your horse's "normal" gait movement provides invaluable information.

The EL2 identifies both current lameness and establishes baseline movement patterns in sound horses. After a baseline is established, anytime you feel something change under saddle, a new analysis can be performed and compared. This information allows you and your veterinarian to make changes if needed (treatments, joint supplements, shoeing changes, etc.) to prevent a minor gait change from becoming a major lameness.

TEVA’s Dr. Jay Joyce, the only EL2 Certified Practitioner in the Mid-Atlantic Region, will share the report with you so that you can discuss it with your veterinarian. "Establishing an objective soundness baseline is the best start to any show season or when bringing your horse back to work after a layup," says Dr. Joyce

In addition to the EL2, we will have an introduction to Acupuncture and Tui-na station with Drs. Hyman and Coppelman. Tui-na is a specific massage/manipulation method that provides the benefits of acupuncture for needle shy horses or can be combined with acupuncture. If you would like to schedule your horse to have a well-being treatment, we are offering a discounted introductory rate of $75 (typically $169).

Both sessions will be scheduled every 45 minutes starting at 8am.
