MDS Working Equitation EOH Fix A Test & Clinic

We will be doing an ease of handling Fix-A-Test.

Riders will ride the ease of handling course, be judged, then work with Allison on improvements of their course. Riders have option to ride the entire course again. Each session will be 20 mins.

Group Sessions
We are adding group sessions

Sessions are limited to 5 riders per session.
Sessions are 90 minutes long.

Levels
Newbie – This group is for rider/horse that have never done working equitation before. Allison will introduce the sport of working equitation and help the rider/horse become comfortable with the obstacles. Work will be at the walk and some trot, if comfortable at that gait.
Intro – This group is for rider/horse that have some experience with WE obstacles. Work will be at the walk/trot.
Novice – This group is for rider/horse that have experience with WE obstacles. Work will be at the walk/trot/canter.

Clinician Allison Reed
Allison Reed has nearly two decades of professional riding and teaching experience with roots in eventing. In 2018 she discovered Working Equitation and fell in love with the discipline for its promotion of horse and rider trust, and the correct foundations of equitation across all breeds/disciplines. She is currently working toward a L judges’ card in Working Equitation. Allison competed through Preliminary and was a Working Student/assistant under Jennifer Johnson (winner of ‘96 Rolex) and Wendy Olson Lewis (short listed for Pan Am team). A founding member of Northern Virginia Working Equitation (NOVAWE), Alison is a regular area WE clinician, known for her patience, trust, and attention to biomechanics and her physical therapy approach to help the horse find balance and flexibility. Allison is a formally trained instructor, holding a masters degree in Elementary Education.

  • Ride Time: Will be listed on Facebook or emailed. Please join our mailing list.
  • Trailer Direction: Please plug in Whisper Drive into the GPS. You'll see gates with no trespassing sign, it's fine, go through the open gate. Continue to the end of the street, turn right onto Seneca Lake Drive, and then continue until you see the driveway on the right. (Look for the MDS Show sign).
