Hunter Derby

Walnut Hill Farm is so excited to host our first Hunter Derby. We will have 4 different classes:
18” Elementary Derby
- walk/trot recommended with an easier track for beginner riders or green horses. Course will be no more than 8 jumps
18” Hunter Derby
- hunt and go format
-no more than 10 jumps
2’6” Hunter Derby
- hunt and go format
- 12 to 14 jumps
3’ Hunter Derby
- hunt and go format
- 12 to 14 jumps
Each height will have an open warm up and walk prior to the start of the class.
Organizer Notes
As the show gets closer and I have a better idea of entries, I will post the start times for each class. As long as it isn't below 50, we will start the 3' warm up at 8:00 then work our way down the heights ending with the elementary derby. Depending on entries, the warm up will be 30 minutes followed by each class. The goal is for this show to be fun, low stress, and inviting. Whatever I can do to make it that way, feel free to let me know!

*Additional warm up opportunities available on GGT footing
*Not ready to show, but still want to attend? Young/green horse schooling available in the outdoor ring or indoor ring weather dependent. Contact Casey for more info*
