Virginia Horse Council Brandy Station Battlefield Historical Trail Ride

Ride your horse through hallowed ground on a unique historical trail ride across Brandy Station Battlefield, site of the largest Civil War cavalry battle and the first battle of the Gettysburg Campaign. Civil War interpreters will be encountered along the upgraded interpretative trails who will describe life and actions during the action. This is a unique opportunity to experience Civil War cavalry history on horseback in a landscape that has remained virtually unchanged through time.

Brandy Station Battlefield consists of over 1,000 acres of preserved land and will become a part of Virginia's new Culpeper Battlefield State Park. The trails cover rolling open meadows and forest land in addition to a steep but short hill. Ride at your own pace with friends.

Water for riders will be available at the registration table as well as a covered tent to relax in post ride. Please bring your own horse water as there is no water onsite. Quick food is available at the Southern States Gas Station Market off Route 29.
