Copeland Farms Beginner Horse Camp

July 13th–17th, 2026
9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
$600 per Camper

Join us for a fun-filled week of horses, learning, and outdoor adventures at Copeland Farms! Our Beginner Horse Camp is designed for young horse enthusiasts who want to learn the basics of riding and horse care in a safe, supportive, and hands-on environment.

Throughout the week, campers will spend time riding, grooming, leading, bathing, and caring for horses while learning important horsemanship skills. In addition to daily riding lessons, campers will enjoy crafts, educational activities, water games, and special horse-themed projects.

What Campers Will Learn:
-Basic horse safety and barn rules
-Grooming and tacking up horses
-Beginner riding skills (Walk and Trot)
-How to lead a horse safely
-Showmanship and horse handling
-Parts of the horse and tack
-Horse care and stable management
-What horses eat and how they are cared for

Fun Activities Include:
-Horse-themed crafts and projects
-Water games and team activities
-Horse bathing
-Horse decorating day (braids, painting, hoof polish, and more!)
-Slip-and-slide and water balloon activities
-End-of-week horse show for family and friends

Friday Fun Show:

Parents and family are invited to join us on Friday for our camp horse show beginning at noon!!! Campers will demonstrate the skills they learned throughout the week and participate in fun classes such as:

-Walk Equitation
-Walk-Trot Equitation
-Egg & Spoon Race
-Pole Pattern Class
-Showmanship Class

Awards, photos, and camp memories will conclude our week together!

What to Bring Each Day:
-Packed lunch
-Water bottle
-Snack
-Sunscreen (applied before arrival and/or packed for reapplication)
-Change of clothes (recommended)
-Towel for water activity days

What to Wear:
-Long riding pants or jeans
-Closed-toe boots with heel
- Extra clothes that can get dirty and/or wet
- On Friday, wear your camp shirt for the horse show!

Additional Information:
Camp takes place primarily outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Safety is our top priority, and all riding activities will be supervised by experienced instructors. Whether your child is brand new to horses or has limited riding experience, this camp is a great opportunity to build confidence, make new friends, and create lasting memories with our wonderful horses.
